Original German Expressionist advertisement lithograph by Otto Arpke and Erich Stahl for E.A. Dupont’s lost 1920 silent film Whitechapel. While no known copies of the film have survived, it is believed that the story was based on actual police reports from London’s Whitechapel district.
Artists Erich Stahl and Otto Arpke also created artworks for Robert Wiene’s 1920 German Expressionist film Das Cabinet des Dr. Caligari (The Cabinet of Doctor Caligari).
This artwork is presented professionally framed using all archival materials including a silk mat and gold fillet and arrives accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Notable museum collections featuring work by Otto Arpke and Erich Stahl include: Museum of Modern Art, New York
