"Neuschwanstein" was one of the last works that Andy Warhol completed before his untimely death in 1987.
It was during this last decade that Warhol had a resurgence in both reputation and creativity (after doing an excessive number of celebrity portraits in the 1970s).
Series such as "Camouflage" and his collaboration with Jean-Michel Basquiat (who would die in 1988) are paradigms from Warhol's late period.
"Neuschwanstein" is also one of the only landscapes in Warhol's oeuvre. An amazing starter Warhol.
